The FIH also announced the new Junior Women’s World Rankings, which position India at number six and the Netherlands at number one, to build excitement for the important tournament. Argentina, Germany, England and the United States are ranked second, third, fourth and fifth respectively. It must be noted that India is the top-ranked team in the continental rankings.

The Belgian, Canadian, and German teams were placed in Pool C with the Indian Team. India’s campaign will begin on November 29 against Canada, and on December 1 they will play Germany. The third and final Pool matchup will be between the Indian squad and Belgium on December 2.

After recently taking home the Women’s Junior Asia Cup 2023 in Japan, the Indian Junior Women’s Hockey Team will compete at the FIH Junior Women’s World Cup 2023 with a strong sense of determination and hope to win the coveted trophy for the first time in the tournament’s history.

Notably, India lost to England 2(0)-2(3) in the game for the quarterfinal and semifinal positions, narrowly missing out on the bronze medal at the most recent FIH Junior Women’s Hockey World Cup.

The top two teams from each Pool advance to the Quarter-Finals, while the remaining teams compete for classification slots, according to the tournament’s format. Each team in the Pool stage will play the other three teams in their Pool once.

The Netherlands, who are the current FIH Junior Women’s Hockey World Cup champions, have won the title four times. Argentina and South Korea have each taken home the prized title twice. The contest has only once been won by Germany.
