Antonio Giovinazzi wins Le Mans 24 Hours race
Antonio won the recently held Le Mans 24 Hours race while driving the #51 Ferrari hypercar alongside James Calado and Alessandro Pier Guidi. The victory was made more special by the fact that it took place 50 years after the team made its triumphant return to Circuit de la Sarthe. Before this year’s victory, he previously competed in the 2018 edition of the Le Mans 24 Hours race. During that year, he was part of the AF Corse team in the LMGTE Pro class.

Antonio Giovinazzi is an Italian race car driver who was born on December 14, 1993, in Martina Franca, Italy. He began driving at an early age and started out competing karting back in 2000. Just six years after starting out as a kart racer, he went on to win the Italian National Trophy 60cc and Euro Trophy 60 championship. Later in 2010 and 2011, he also won at the WSK Masters Series in the KF2 class.

The Italian driver started out his professional career in the British Formula Three Championship back in 2013. During his debut season, he registered two wins at Silverstone and Spa-Francorchamps as part of the Double R Racing team.
The same year, he also debuted in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship with the Double R Racing team. He eventually joined Jagonya Ayam with Carlin later in 2014 and won the Red Bull Ring and Nurburgring. The following year, he won in six races and finished as runners-up in the championship.
Antonio Giovinazzi then signed with Prema Racing in 2016 and competed in the GP2 Series. There he won five races and finished second in the championship. That same year, the 29-year-old driver joined the Extreme Speed Motorsports team and competed in the FIA World Endurance Championship. He also achieved decent results in 6 Hours of Fuji and 6 Hours of Shanghai in the LMP2 class. Giovanazzi did not stop there as he also won two Asian Le Mans Series races at Buriram and Sepang in the LMP2 class.
Antonio Giovinazzi experienced a breakthrough in 2017, when he made his Formula One debut for Sauber at the Australian GP. He ended up finishing the race in 12th place. He also competed at the Chinese GP that same year, but crashed out from qualifying and race.
From Antonio 2017 and 2018, Giovinazzi was the designated reserve/test driver for multiple F1 teams. The 29-year-old Italian then got to race regularly in Formula One as the Alfa Romeo driver from 2019-2021. His best result in the F1 so far came during the Brazilian GP in 2019, where he finished at fifth place in the final standings.
