Who was Mangal Dhillon?
Mangal Dhillon was a well-known Indian actor, director, filmmaker, and writer. He has been in the news because he passed away after a prolonged illness at the age of 64.
He was born on 18 June 1974 in Wander Jatana village, Faridkot, Punjab. His father’s name is Surinderpal Singh, and he is a farmer, whereas his mother’s name is Baljeet Kaur. He also has two sisters named Ihana Dhillon and Kiran Dhillon.
After completing his schooling and graduation, Mangal Dhillon did his post-graduation in theater at Panjab University.
He was married, and his wife’s name is Ritu Dhillon, who is a renowned painter. The couple are also the parents of one son and one daughter.
He died on 11 June 2023 in Ludhiana, Punjab. At the time of his death, he was 64 years old.
His career
Mangal Dhillon began his career in 1978 and quickly rose to prominence in Delhi’s theater community. Later, he dabbled in radio dramas, and “Katha Sagar,” his first appearance on television, was in 1986. Dhillon’s notable TV serials include “Buniyaad” and “Junoon.”
He made his Bollywood debut in “Khoon Bhari Maang” in 1988 and afterward acted in “Vishwatma” and “Janasheen,” among other movies. Furthermore, he established M. D. & Company, which staged his play “Theatrewala Urf Pagal Hai” and produced documentaries.
Mangal Dhillon authored books in English, Punjabi, and Hindustani poetry. Dhillon’s creative contributions extended to writing scripts for films and TV shows.
