After 10 days of being asleep following the practical exam, the ninth episode opened with Chise sitting by Lucy’s bedside. After meeting Chise at the Black Market in the first season, Seth Noel eventually confessed that he was in reality Lucy’s brother and had come to see her. Chise was awakened by his presence and was drawn into her dream, where she witnessed the aftermath of what appeared to be a slaughter.
She woke up, but then promptly fell back asleep, so Chise went about her day. She spoke with Philomela Sargant for a short while, then saw Rian Scrimgeour and Isaac Fowler to give them an update on Lucy. Next, we see a scene in which the College’s professors are called together to discuss the theft of a magical tome.
The Testament of Carnamagos is a harmful book that should be avoided by everybody. The gathering broke up after Elias told what he knew about the Webster tragedy, and Elias went to talk to Simeon Paladilhe about it. After the book was stolen, Simeon and Seth’s security guard were apparently attacked by the thief and his accomplices.
