The Toronto Maple Leafs have appointed Brad Treliving as their new general manager and here is all you need to know about him along with his salary and net worth
After electing not to renew his contract after it ended on June 30, the Leafs severed their relationship with former general manager Kyle Dubas earlier this month.
The vacant general manager post with the Pittsburgh Penguins has since been connected to Dubas.
For the previous nine seasons, Treliving was the general manager of the Calgary Flames. Despite leading the Flames to five postseason appearances and only two round victories, Treliving was hired in April 2014.
After the 2021–22 season, Calgary didn’t participate at all in the postseason. Treliving’s contract with the Flames was slated to end on June 30 when they parted ways in April.
As soon as Toronto cut connections with Dubas, Treliving’s name was mentioned as a potential Dubas replacement. For the position, the Leafs also spoke with former Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin. But Treliving’s accomplishments and experience in Calgary seem to have given him the edge.
When Treliving starts working, his first priority will be to negotiate Auston Matthews’ next contract. Toronto’s star centre will be able to discuss a contract extension when the final year of his current deal; which includes a no-trade clause; starts on July 1.
The Leafs are expected to hold a press conference on Thursday to formally introduce Treliving to the group.

Who is Brad Treliving?
Treliving brings more than 20 years of managerial experience to Toronto. Treliving’s career in hockey administration began when he helped co-found the Western Professional Hockey League in 1996 and was involved in the league’s 2001 merger with the Central Hockey League.
As deputy general manager to Don Maloney, he joined the Coyotes in 2003. At the time, Treliving was also in charge of the team’s AHL club, the San Antonio Rampage. He held both jobs within the Coyotes organisation until 2014, when he was hired by the Flames to serve as the team’s general manager.
Calgary twice won the Pacific Division under Treliving’s direction, although the team missed the playoffs four times, most recently this past season. The Flames never advanced past the second round in the five seasons in which they did fulfil the conditions for postseason eligibility.
Treliving, who was the Calgary Flames’ general manager from 2014 until his contract expired at the end of the 2022-23 season replaced Kyle Dubas.
Treliving’s net worth is estimated to be between $1 million and $5 million dollars while his exact salary remains under review.
Brad Treliving is married to Julie Treliving. Following the appointment, Brad’s father, Jim Treliving, who is also the owner of the Boston Pizza restaurant chain in Toronto, proudly took to Twitter and congratulated his son.
Jim Treliving, a Canadian businessman and television personality, is the father of Treliving. On the Canadian television programme Dragon’s Den, the senior Treliving is one of the investors.
