Controversy followed the release of the Hindi trailer for the movie, with accusations that it was intended to malign West Bengal. As a result, the West Bengal Police issued a legal notice to the movie’s director, Sanoj Mishra.
In response to the situation, Mishra decided to address the issue in an interview. He said that only accurate material was used to create “The Diary of West Bengal” and emphasized that for over two years, he and his crew had been gathering information and investigating the movie’s storyline.
He claimed that the movie explores Bengali society’s problems, including its poverty and suffering, and added that he has proof to back up his assertions.
Sanoj Mishra was served with a legal notice accusing him of violating many provisions of the Indian Criminal Code, the Information Technology Act of 2000, and the Cinematograph Act of 1952 on May 11, 2023. According to the notification, Mishra will be questioned to learn more about the facts and circumstances of the case.

His career
Sanoj Mishra has worked in the industry for more than 20 years. When he first came to Mumbai, he was enthralled by the attractions of television, radio, and movies.
