Both Shubman Gill and his sister Shahneel Gill were subjected to deranged death threats and abuses by RCB fans
As Gujarat Titans upset Royal Challengers Bangalore by six wickets to knock them out of the Indian Premier League 2023, Shubman Gill surpasses his idol, Virat Kohli.
RCB fans send death threats to Shubman Gill, abuse his sister Shahneel Gill on Instagram and Twitter after team is knocked out from IPL 2023
Gill scored his second consecutive century ensuring GT’s victory.
After Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) were eliminated from the playoffs of the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), fans of the franchise went on to issue death threats to cricketer Shubman Gill and his sister.
At Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Virat Kohli blasted a magnificent century to lead RCB to a commanding 197/5 total in a game they had to win. Shubman, though, ruined the celebration for RCB by scoring another masterful century while chasing the target.
Their team can't win in cricket.
But their fans can win in abusing.
Shame on RCB fans.

Shubman scored his second consecutive century with a six, giving Gujarat Titans the victory. Mumbai Indians will play Lucknow Super Giants in the eliminator match thanks to RCB’s sad 6-wicket loss.
Titans lost the opener, Wriddhiman Saha, early for 12 while trying to reach the 198-run goal. Mohammed Siraj capitalised on the rusty appearance of the wicketkeeper-batsman by taking an early wicket in the third over. Shubman and Vijay Shankar had a 123-run stand for the second wicket, resuming the Titans’ chase, although RCB had to wait nearly 13 overs to take the second wicket.
Shankar, who was introduced as an impact player, amassed a noteworthy 53 runs off 35 balls, including 7 fours and 2 sixes. When Shubman dominated the bowlers at Chinnaswamy, he showed class and emulated his idol, Virat Kohli. His elegant boundaries in front of the wicket left a lasting impression on the RCB bowlers.
Shubman stood his ground and led his team to victory by regularly hitting fours and sixes. RCB was able to recover a little bit by collecting three wickets in rapid succession. Shubman eventually silenced the Chinnaswamy with a six straight down the ground, breaking Kohli and the RCB’s hearts once more. He scored 104 runs* from 52 balls while hitting 5 fours and 8 sixes.
Before Kohli also hit a century to set a target of 197.
In the crucial match for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kohli produced a record-breaking seventh IPL century. When the other RCB batter could not get going, he once more showed his class. Under duress, Kohli scored an unbroken 101 runs, hitting 13 fours and a six during his outstanding performance.
While the rain gods threatened to derail RCB’s play-off plans during the day, Kohli (101 not out off 61 balls) brought back his 2016 persona in the game that got underway 30 minutes late. His innings was priceless given that none of the other RCB hitters even reached 30. King Kohli’ indeed stood tall but that was not sufficient enough to take RCB to the play-off.
