Just days after being hired, the son of famed college football coach Bo Schembechler unexpectedly resigned from his job at his father’s esteemed alma mater.
After the discovery of offensive and racial social media information connected to his Twitter account, Shemy Schembechler resigned from his position as assistant director of football recruitment at the University of Michigan, according to various sources.

Schembechler’s Twitter account was disabled on Saturday following the discovery of a large number of inappropriate and insensitive tweets and “likes,” including material that implied favorable aspects of slavery and Jim Crow.
Yahoo! Sports reported that these liked tweets were accumulated over several years, with hundreds to thousands of them being unliked before the account was eventually shut down.
In a joint statement, Warde Manuel, the athletic director at Michigan, and head coach Jim Harbaugh admitted that Shemy Schembechler’s social media activities had upset and hurt the community. The statement said,
We are aware of some comments and likes on social media that have caused concern and pain for individuals in our community. Michigan Athletics is fully committed to a place where our coaches, staff, and student-athletes feel welcome and where we fully support the university’s and athletic department’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Shemy Schembechler is renowned for being the son of legendary coach Glenn E. “Bo” Schembechler. He has been in the news because he resigned from his position as assistant director of football recruitment at the University of Michigan.
His real name is Glenn Schembechler. He is a resident of Ann Arbor, Michigan, in the United States. His father’s name is Bo Schembechler, who is a legendary football coach, whereas his mother’s name is Mildred.
Shemy Schembechler did his schooling at Ann Arbor Huron High School. Later on, he attended Miami University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Sports and Exercise. Subsequently, she studied kinesiology and sports management at the University of Michigan. Furthermore, he earned a Master’s in Sports Administration at Ohio University.
He is married, and his wife’s name is Meg N. Shem.
His career
Shemy Schembechler started his professional career by doing a scouting internship at the Kansas City Chiefs. Later, he becomes a Blesto Scout at the Chicago Bears, an area scout for the Washington Redskins, and a college scouting consultant at the Seattle Seahawks.
In June 2014, he became the director of strategic recruiting at Title Boxing Club. He has also been president and co-founder of GES Advisory Company. Subsequently, he becomes a consultant at PowerPlay Strategies. He has also been an area and college scout for the Oakland Raiders.
In May 2023, Shemy Schembechler was appointed Assistant Director of Football Recruiting at the University of Michigan Athletics. However, he resigned within a few days.
