Ben Simmons has been handed a fine of $1.4 million by the Philadelphia 76ers for not playing four preseason games
Ben Simmons is doing himself no favours at the moment with the player tanking his trade value by the minute.
Just when it finally looked that someone had managed to knock some much needed sense into Simmons’ head, the 76ers players petulant personality managed to shine through yet again. Just a day ahead of the NBA 2022 season getting underway, Simmons lost his marbles with his misconduct during a practice session seeing him leave head coach Doc Rivers irked.
Philadelphia 76ers Issue Staggering Fine On Ben Simmons After His Antics
Simmons who refused to interact with anyone associated to Philadelphia 76ers since his return to training failed to adhere to a call for his coach. Asked to be subbed into a drill, Simmons went onto refuse on a slew of occasions before Doc Rivers finally ran out of patience with him.
Simmons was asked to leave the vicinity along with being suspended for the first game of his team’s new season. However, that wasn’t the end of Simmons troubles with reports revealing how he has been fined $1.4 million till now for missing four preseason games with a fine of $360,000 per game.
Simmons has also been levied with a bevy of fines and punishments for his misconduct and decorum during his presence at the practice sessions. Ever since he’s returned to the side, Simmons has failed to earn a single dollar in 9 days since his October 11 reappearance.
Meanwhile, Philadelphia 76ers are clear in their stance regarding the player with the side willing to trade him only for a player capable of making it into the side’s shooting arounds.
