Harshit Rana significantly benefited Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), know about his father and brother name
Harshit Rana gave Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) a big edge by dismissing top-order batsmen Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Prabhsimran Singh of Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the opening two overs of the game.
Notably, on May 8, the two teams met in Kolkata’s storied Eden Gardens for match 53 of the ongoing IPL 2023.
The captain of Punjab, Shikhar Dhawan, took the intelligent decision to declare a total during the toss.
However, Harshit Rana’s superb performance allowed the home team to immediately make the scoring runs. By hitting boundaries, the opening combination of Prabhsimran Singh and captain Dhawan got things started.
However, Harshit ended the first player’s innings in the second over.
When Prabhsimran attempted to knock a length delivery over to the leg side but instead got a delicate top edge, wicketkeeper Rahmanullah Gurbaz made an outstanding catch to dismiss him for just 12 runs off eight balls.
To get Rajapaksa out, Harshit struck twice on the fourth ball of the fourth over.
Rajapaksa received a small edge on the fullish-length ball that the KKR bowler bowled, and Gurbaz once more pouched him. The PBKS batter, who had just returned to the XI, was consequently dismissed for a three-ball duck.
Even though the 21-year-old spinner has only participated in two matches so far, he has taken a wicket each time he faced Gujarat Titans or Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Three wickets for KKR in the powerplay.
Can Punjab Kings recover from here?
