Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the head of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) and a member of the BJP, is currently pinned to the mat after Delhi Police filed two FIRs accusing him of harassing multiple female wrestlers.
For almost ten years, Brij Bhushan Singh has served as the Wrestling Federation of India’s president. The influential six-term MP is currently the target of many woman wrestlers who have made sexual harassment claims against him. The head of the wrestling federation has finally been cornered as a result of the protests by India’s top wrestlers, notably Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik since January.

Why Indian wrestlers are holding protests against WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh
Protesting wrestlers Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat, & Sakshi Malik made their plans to remain at Jantar Mantar in Delhi until the MP is arrested known during a press conference. This conference took place immediately after the Delhi Police informed the Supreme Court they would file a FIR against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh on Friday. Vinesh further disclosed that the wrestlers no longer have any faith in the Delhi police and will only provide additional proof to the Supreme Court, not to any committee or the police.
After speaking with the Sports Ministry and setting up an oversight committee, the wrestlers, who had originally arrived at Jantar Mantar in January, decided to break up. However since Sunday, the wrestlers have been protesting and calling for Brij Bhushan to be fired from his position as president of the Wrestling Federation of India as well as criminal charges to be brought against him.
