Leah Williamson injury occurs just 100 days before the World Cup, find out all about her update and when is she expected to return
Leah Williamson, an Arsenal player, looked to suffer a painful injury against Manchester United in the Women’s Super League, endangering her chances of attending this year’s Women’s World Cup.
Williamson was the Lionesses’ first major trophy-winning captain and a key component of both England’s and Arsenal’s defence at Euro 2022 last summer.

In the 13th minute of the important game between the Gunners and the Red Devils, Williamson attempted to gather the ball but appeared to injure her knee and fell to the ground.
The England captain quickly fell to the ground in apparent discomfort as emergency professionals moved forward with a stretcher.
Williamson was, fortunately, able to leave the ground unscathed, but with less than 100 days until this year’s World Cup, some supporters are still preparing for the worst.

How badly Williamson was hurt?
Though it’s too soon to determine Williamson’s injury’s full degree, the warning indications were concerning, and some have speculated that it might be an ACL tear.
Rachel Brown-Finnis, a former goalie, commented on BBC:
That’s a worrying sign. Leah Williamson is integral to this team, to the Lionesses too.”
Brown-Finnis also brought up the amount of ACL victims Arsenal presently has, with Beth Mead and Vivianne Miedema already out for the season owing to ACL injuries.
Not only Arsenal players, but others have recently sustained ACL injuries.
Attacker Marie-Antoinette Katoto of France and current Ballon d’Or champion Alexia Putellas have both been gone for around nine months.
In actuality, a starting XI composed of athletes who recently suffered ACL tears is very ludicrous.
Arsenal manager issues update on Leah Williamson’s injuries and responsible parties Man United pitch
After the defender was pulled off in the Gunners’ 1-0 loss to Manchester United, Arsenal manager Jonas Eidevall said he “does not know” the severity of Lionesses captain Leah Williamson’s injury.
Eidevall, as per The Mirror, said:
You see the pitch, it is a pitch that has a lot more to [be desired]. I think it’s going to continue here with the schedule we have and pitches like that, players are going to get injured.”
He further stated that they all need to make improvements to the facilities where they play to keep the players on the pitch.
