Ahead of his final scrimmage with Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury was touted as the outright favourite to win the showdown.
And the Gypsy King showed why he was the crowd favourite as he ended knocking out his American opponent in the 11th round. However, the win didn’t come easy for Fury with Wilder showing insane resolve and will to recover from being knocked down in round 3.
It was a fight befitting of the hype engulfing it, a battle which was undoubtedly the fight of the year. Unlike the antics of boxing exhibition matches involving Logan Paul, Jake Paul and KSI, the matchup was one to savour, a battle which showed what true boxing really means.

And as the Gypsy King retained his WBC heavyweight title, Tyson Fury ensured he kept his tradition alive of bursting into a song after his win. Fury was seen crooning Walking In Memphis after his second successive win against Wilder as Wilder quickly exited the venue.

“October 9, 2021, will go down in history as a great fight. Don’t ever doubt me. When the chips are down, I can always deliver,” Fury said after his win.
Wilder’s exit was further explained by Fury who revealed how Wilder had refused to acknowledge him or wish him after the fixture.
“Deontay Wilder is so tough but he has no love for me because I beat him three times,” Fury said. “I am a sportsman, I went over to show love and respect but he didn’t want to give it back,” the winner continued.
