After a little more than 30 minutes of play, two-time Olympian Sindhu defeated Putri Kusuma Wardani 21-16, 21-14 to seal berth in her first quarterfinal of the 2023 season. By defeating compatriot Sai Praneeth in the second round, Srikanth triumphed 21-15 21-12 and qualified towards the quarterfinal

2023 Spain Masters: BWF points award system

According to BWF, the winner of each Madrid Spain Masters category will receive 7,000 BWF points, while the runner-up will receive around 5,950 points. Sameer Verma and Kiran George only received 2,750 BWF points from this contest after their tragic second-round loss.

2023 Spain Masters: prize money distribution

According to estimates, out of the $210,000 total prize money, the singles division winners at the renowned BWF Super 300 event Spain Masters would each receive $15,750. While the losers in the semifinals will only receive $3,045 each, the singles runner-up will receive $7,500. Arundhati Kashyap and Sameer Verma were unexpectedly eliminated in the second round and will now receive $735 in prize money each.
