But on June 26, 2020, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) announced that the Davis Cup 2020 Finals are postponed and will take place in November 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. New Format Of Davis Cup 2021
For the Davis Cup 2020-21, the format was developed. The new category of a Davis Cup World Group I and World Group II had been introduced which will be played on a global premise. This category substituted the Group I and Group II format. Therefore, any country was able to partake in the Davis Cup 2020-21 apart from the Cup’s Nations Ranking Teams.
FUN FACT: The United States of America is the most accomplished team in Davis Cup history with 32 titles to their name, followed by Australia with 28 titles.

The 18 groups will contend in six general groups of three rounds. The six group champions in addition to the two runner-up teams with the best records dependent on sets and matches dominated will go in the quarter-finals. The Davis Cup champions will be chosen after the knockout stage.
