Update on King James foot injury
James had a right foot tendon injury, and the Lakers stated on March 2 that he will be re-evaluated in around three weeks. James had started on-court activity and “gradual basketball movement progression,” the team said in a March 23 report.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, James intends to make a comeback within the final three to four games of the regular season. James was hurt on February 26 during the third quarter in a comeback victory over the Mavericks. He was still playing when he was heard on the broadcast saying, “I heard a pop.” Later, he was observed exiting the arena while limping. James had no structural problems, and it was soon revealed that he wouldn’t require surgery.
James has played in only 47 games this season due to injuries. When fully healthy, he averaged 29.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 6.9 assists per game while shooting 50.1 per cent from the pitch. He was an All-NBA performer. James routinely appeared on the Lakers’ injury report with a painful left ankle prior to his foot injury.
