Watch video of Max Verstappen father congratulating Sergio Perez after Saudi Arabian GP win goes viral amid drama

Max Verstappen father Jos is referred to as “grumpy” by many F1 commentators but a video of him congratulating Sergio Perez has gone viral amidst their drama

In a recently released video, Jos Verstappen, Max Verstappen’s father, is seen complimenting Sergio Perez in defiance of the rumours that surfaced after Max finished second at the 2023 Formula One Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

After the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix was over, Jos Verstappen faced a lot of criticism from the audience.

Red Bull’s 1-2 result and best lap gave it the most points for the race. Though everyone on the team was happy with the result, not everyone was completely satisfied.

Sergio Perez joined the team in their win celebration, but everyone’s attention was drawn to Jos Verstappen who was standing next to Checo and had an expressionless face.

It was said that he was disappointed when his son Max Verstappen lost the race.

The Dutchman received a lot of criticism after it went viral online, however, a later video shows the exact reverse, showing that he genuinely clasped hands with Perez to join in the celebration.

Despite significant criticism that he only extended his hand because Checo had done so, Verstappen did shake Checo’s hand after the race.

Despite Max Verstappen continuing to dominate Sergio Perez’s race wins, Perez is the only driver who has been the closest to the two-time world champion in the first two rounds of the 2023 season.

With Ferrari still having issues and Mercedes still attempting to be competitive enough, only Aston Martin has been able to compete with the RB-19.

The racing in Jeddah suggests that Checo has some influence as well, proving that the two drivers may effectively control the entire grid.

By the finish line of the race, both drivers were vying for the fastest lap, and Verstappen prevailed. As many others have noted, Perez seemed rather shocked by the same.

Even if Max Verstappen leads the championship, the fact that he only leads by one point after only two races in the season make it clear that only the Red Bull drivers can compete against one another.
