James was in the playing eleven and started against Manchester City. He attempted a 50-50 challenge with Jack Grealish in the 10th minute and took a knock. Later on, he continued to play but lasted only till 20th minutes. He called the medical staff on the pitch and was substituted. James left the pitch with a bandage on his thighs.
After the match, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel confirmed that it was painful and James’ injury will keep him out for few weeks. The defender has sustained a sprain on his leg. If it is a minor sprain then James might come back on the pitch after the next international break. In case, if it is a major one, he might be out for at least two months.

James played a huge role last year in the Chelsea campaign where the London side lifted the UCL trophy. He made 32 appearances last year in the Premier League and scored a goal.
Now, it looks like Tuchel will continue playing Azipilcueta on the right and Silva in the center.
