Besides, topping the table, Mikel Artetaโs side have a wage bill less than half of Chelsea and Manchester United who are currently placed at 10th and 3rd respectively.
Arsenalโs shockingly low wage bill
Arsenal are at present the team to beat as they are in fine form and atop the Premier League table. Moreover, what makes things more impressive is their significantly smaller wage budget compared to the other traditional โBig Sixโ teams.
Arsenal have the smallest wage bill out of any of the traditional โBig Sixโ teams as the league leaders pay their players a total of just under ยฃ98million each year. This is in big contrast to other teams like Chelsea who have the largest wage bill worth ยฃ212m.
Ever since Todd Boehly acquired the club, they have been on a ยฃ600m spending spree over the last nine months. This has seen them edge past Man Utd in the wage bill standings. The Red Devils currently shell out around ยฃ211m in wage bills and come behind Chelsea at the second spot.
Meanwhile, the other big six teams follow up with Man City at ยฃ182m, Liverpool at ยฃ158m and Tottenham at ยฃ110m. Following which, Arsenal comes behind as the first club to limit their wage bill under the ยฃ100m mark.
Premier League wage bills outside the big six
Aside from the big six teams, the biggest budgets comes from Aston Villa, Everton, West Ham and Newcastle. All these clubs range between the ยฃ76m and ยฃ90m mark. Meanwhile, the other clubs that follow up are Leicester, Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, Fulham, Wolves, and Southampton.
Meanwhile, there are clubs like Leeds, Bournemouth, and seventh-place Brighton who spend just around ยฃ35m on their annual wage bill.
However, the least amount goes to Brentford who surprisingly spend only around ยฃ30m per year on wage bills. However, despite their low financial weight, they sit eighth in the Premier League table, which is nothing to be ashamed of.
