At the 2023 All England Open men’s singles final on Sunday, Li Shifeng shocked Shi Yuqi to win his first BWF Tour Super 1000 championship. After winning the hard-fought first-set, Li pushed for the win and took mere 17 minutes to bag the second-set by the score of 21-5. Ultimately, Li Shifeng emerged victorious 26-24, 21-5 against compatriot Shi Yuqi to take the title home.

With her victory over Chen Yufei, Korean ace An Se-young put an end to the 27-year wait of South Korea for an All England women’s singles championship. An, who had appeared exhausted in the second game, sprung into action in the championship game before Chen pulled it back to 17-17. The Korean, though, took the next three points to establish match point before emerging victorious by the score of 21-17, 10-21, 21-19 after an intense 75 minutes.
