2023 All England men’s singles day 3 schedule, date, venue, latest results, & second-round draw
After a quick straight-game victory on Wednesday, Lee Zii Jia has successfully qualified for the second-round of the 2023 All England Open Championships. The fourth-seeded Malaysian, who has spent the better part of nine months finding consistency on the BWF World Tour badminton circuit, needed just 33 minutes to defeat Sitthikom Thammasin by score of 21-12, 21-15.
In another match, rising Thai sensation Kunlavut Vitidsarn defeated former world number one Momota Kento, 23-21, 21-15, in the match of the day. The biggest name to lose on day two was Indonesia’s Jonatan Christie, who was defeated by Weng Hongyang. Throughout the match, Christie failed to find his rhythm and ultimately succumbed to straight-set loss by margins of 21-6, 21-11.

2023 All England Open: BWF points award system
A total of 12,000 BWF points would be awarded to each All England champion, with around 10,200 points going to each category’s runner-up. After losing to sixth-seed Vitidsarn in the first round, former world champion Kento Momota will go home with only 3,000 BWF points.

2023 All England Open: prize money distribution
With the $1,250,000 total prize pool, each singles category winner at the prestigious BWF Super 1000 All England Open will get $87,500. In contrast to the semi-final losers’ $17,500 prize money, the men’s singles runners-up will get $42,500. Jonatan Christie and Kento Momota were unceremoniously eliminated in the first round, and as a result, they only received $1,250.
