A Hindu lady named Dr Sumedha Sharma has been brutally murdered by her Muslim male friend in the Janipur area of Jammu city’s outskirts a day before Holi, 7th of March 2023 by her lover Johar Ganai
A 26-year-old Dr. Sumedha Sharma was the daughter of Kamal Kishore Sharma and hailed from Talab Tillo (Jammu).

The accused has been identified as Johar Ganai, who is the son of Mehmood Ganai, a native of Bhaderwahz at present living in Pamposh Colony, Janipur, Jammu.
Dr. Sumedha Sharma murder
After the murder of Dr. Sumedha Sharma, her friend Johar Ganai tried to commit suicide. “The police officials of Janipur received a phone call from a relative of the accused that Ganai shared on his Facebook page that he is now committing suicide as he is fed up with his life,” as per reports.
A team from the police station of Janipur which was led by SHO Inspector Vijay Kumar reached the house of the accused in Pamposh Colony and they found that the main gate of the house was locked from the outside.
When some police officials broke into their house, they found the accused lying with stab injuries in the abdomen. The dead body of his friend, Dr. Sumedha Sharma was lying in a pool of blood alongside him. The girl also had stab injuries in her abdomen.
The accused is admitted in the ICU as his condition is said to be very critical. Dr. Sumedha was rushed to Medical College and Hospital, Jammu but she was declared dead by the doctors over there.
The body of the deceased girl is handed over to the family after all the legal and medical formalities were completed.
The FIR Number 27/2023, under Section 302 has been registered at the Police Station of Janipur and further investigation has been started.
According to reports, the deceased and the accused both completed their Bachelor’s in Dental Surgery from a college located in Seohra, Jammu. The accused and Sumedha were dating each other. Dr.Sumedha was completing her MDS from a college outside Jammu and she came to her hometown for Holi vacation. After killing Dr.Sumedha Sharma the accused tried committing suicide.
