Up against a Mumbai Indians side devoid of the services of Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya, CSK knew they could put MI under immense pressure with a colossal score on the board.
However, what was supposed to be an emphatic start for the side turned into an aberration for the men in yellow. The new bowling duo of Adam Milne and Trent Boult made the most of the green top on offer with the two getting the ball to ominously deviate and grow onto the batsmen with their speed.

The two moved in tandem to reduce CSK to 7-3 along with sending Ambati Rayudu back to the pavilion retired hurt. The batsman who had walked about at number 4 for CSK failed to understand an Adam Milne delivery, one which ended up striking him on the arm.

Rayudu received brief treatment on the pitch for his injury before it was decided prudent for him to head back with Suresh Raina walking out in his place. Raina’s stay in the middle wasn’t too long either with him holing out a simple catch as he failed to get under the ball properly.
CSK find themselves in a quagmire with the MS Dhoni and Ruturaj Gaikwad striving to get the team out of the pickle it finds itself in with the team at 18-3 in 5 overs.
