Jehan Daruvala who races for Carlin Racing in Formula 2 took his first win of the F2 2021 season at Monza in the sprint race
The last couple of months have heralded in a golden period for India in the sports fraternity. After Neeraj Chopra took gold at the Tokyo Olympics, the country’s para-athletes impressed at the Paralympics with a record 19 medals being won at the marquee games.
And now Jehan Daruvala has managed to make heads turn his way after taking pole at Monza during the sprint race. The Indian who races for Carling racing in the Formula 2, raked in his first win of the 2021 F2 season as he managed to outshine Trident’s Bent Viscaal and PREMA Racing’s Rober Shwartzman.

Jehan Daruvala Makes India Proud With His F2 Win At Monza
Daruvala who is also a driver at Red Bull in their junior team raced a flawless race with him taking lead from the outset, one he managed to hold onto across the second sprint race to emerge as the winner on the day.
And as Daruvala took to the podium, the Indian national anthem was played across the length of Monza as the country’s flag flew high in the world of motorsports. “I think that a win was long overdue this season, so I am very happy,” Daruvala said after his triumph.

The first sprint race saw Theo Pourchaire of ART Grand Prix take pole while he came in second at the second sprint race. Daruvala had meanwhile finished in P9 in the first sprint. Daruvala spoke about the immense pride he felt at hearing the Indian national anthem ensuing his win as he also went onto thank his team for its support.
