Everson Griffen who swerved his car in a bid to avoid crashing into a deer has suffered a concussion during the accident

Fraught with injuries with a haord of players on the injury bed at the moment, the injuries just aren’t stopping for Minnesota Vikings at the moment. Everson Griffen joins a lengthy pile of players ruled out for the team at the moment with him adding his name to Anthony Barr, Christian Darrisaw and Harrison Hand.

Everson Griffen Suffers Concussion During Car Accident, To Miss Sunday’s Clash Against Arizona

Griffen suffered a concussion during a car accident, one which occurred when he was trying to veer clear of a deer on the road. Talking about the massive setback, coach Mark Zimmer revealed that the 33 year old pass rusher was diagnosed with a concussion from the accident and would no longer be in contention for Sunday’s game.

He also went onto add that there was no return date on Griffen with further tests and assessment only being able to affirm the period he’ll be sidelined for.

“Swerved to miss a deer. Got in a car accident,” Zimmerman said when talking about the latest development.

Griffen had only recently resigned with the Vikings to be in the 10th year of his service at the club. He had played the team’s season opener against Cincinnati last week with the player having 80.5 sacks in 90 starts.

Vikings who have already lost their bygone matchup find themselves in a perilious position ahead of their week 2 encounter. Griffen’s injury has left the side reeling with the team seriously depleted as it looks to record its first win of the new season.
