Jake Paul’s bout purse will be $3.2 million, and he will also receive 65% of the pay-per-view revenue, bringing the total prize pool—including sponsorships—to $8.6 million. Fury, who has a fighting background thanks to the family’s boxing heritage and became a reality TV personality in the UK, will receive a $2 million purse along with a 35 percent PPV share for a total of $4.5 million.

Fury did start to get momentum with his jab as he won several early rounds after a sluggish start from both the boxers. Paul was pushing the competition the entire time, and his zeal cost him as he was penalized for hitting behind the head of Fury. Despite the late resurgence of Paul, unbeaten Tommy Fury was declared the winner after two judges gave him a score of 76-73 to Paul’s 75-74.

Tommy Fury vs Jake Paul: match events & post-match reactions

With his ability to manage the fight from a distance and strike combinations on Paul, Fury quickly took the lead. Paul, who was clearly frustrated, expressed it by receiving a point punishment in round five for hitting behind the head. In the subsequent round, Fury was penalized for holding, even though it appeared that Paul had started the holding. Paul needed a big play in the final round because he was severely down in points and in response, he managed to knock Fury down with a jab, but it appeared like Fury’s foot slid on the logos in the middle of the ring.

Despite his late surge in the match, Paul wasn’t able to impress the judges as Fury secured a split-decision win by score of 76-73, 76-73, 74-75. With his victory, Fury has continued his undefeated streak all the while snapping Paul’s unbeaten run.
