Watch: “This is a mess, we’re off,” Lionel Messi Bickers With Anvisa Officials After Brazil vs Argentina Is Called Off

Lionel Messi was far from pleased with the Brazilian authorities as they interrupted Brazil vs Argentina to detain Argentina’s Premier League quartet

As the world sat glued to soak in the spectacle Brazil vs Argentina promised to be, the global stage got the entertainment it wanted. However, it didn’t come in the manner envisaged with us not being immersed in an intoxicating brew of football but rather a colossal turmoil on the pitch.

Officials from Brazil’s health authority, Anvisa ended up making their presence felt at the affair with the government officials there to detain Argentina’s players. Emi Buendia, Emiliano Martinez, Cristian Romero and Giovani Lo Celso had all ended up fudging their health reports with the four Premier League players lying up their stay in the UK prior to landing in Brazil.

The match was abruptly halted as the officials stormed the pitch to detain and then deport the four players for their misdemeanor. However, things soon started getting ugly with Argentina’s players refusing to admit their guilt as Nicolas Otamendi and Marcos Acuna were pictured pushing a member of Anvisa.

Captain Lionel Messi wasn’t too pleased with the set of events which were unravelling with him seen having a go at the officials. The PSG player was heard saying, “It’s an embarrassment. We have been in Brazil for 3 days and nothing happened.”

Messi then refused to step back onto the pitch as the match was subsequently abandoned. Why he had decided to get enraged for his own players’ misconduct is something which is flabbergasting though with all four of the Premier League names sending in falsified reports in a bid to clobber the health guidelines in place in Brazil to tackle the delta variant of COVID-19.
