Burt Bacharach, an American pop composer, songwriter, and pianist who was famous for songs like “I Say a Little Prayer,” died in Los Angeles at the age of 94, know about his wife Jane Hansen
His many songs topped the charts in the 1960s and 1970s. During his long career, Bacharach worked with a lot of famous people, from Dionne Warwick and Aretha Franklin to Dusty Springfield and Tom Jones. He went on tour with Marlene Dietrich and worked with the band the White Stripes.
Bacharach died Wednesday at home of natural causes, his publicist Tina Brausman told AFP. He was known for romantic, sad ballads that blurred the line between jazz and pop.

He won a lot of awards, including three Oscars, one for the score of “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,” an Emmy, eight Grammys, including one for a lifetime of work, and two Golden Globes. There are a lot of hits, including “Walk On By,” “Do You Know the Way to San Jose,” and “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head.” He wrote almost 50 Top 100 hits, including nine number ones.
Bacharach worked well with Dionne Warwick for a long time. They worked together on “That’s What Friends Are For,” a cover of a song that Bacharach wrote with one of his four wives, Carole Bayer Sager, in 1982.
