Stepping out for Sauber for the first time in the land of Formula 1 as he made his debut in the Australian Grand Prix back in 2001, Kimi Raikkonen has finally decided to bring the curtains down on what has been an illustrious F1 career.
Ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix this weekend, Raikkonen revealed that the season ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix would be the last time he would take to the circuit in Formula 1. With 21 race wins to his name, Raikkonen went onto win the 2007 World Championship with Ferrari in a career which saw him race 18 years at the top level.
However, it weren’t only his impeccable races which saw Raikkonen endear himself to ardent viewers of the sport. Raikkonen is one of the funniest personalities in the land of motorsports with him giving us some gems to revel in as his career edges towards its completion.

And among all the quirky replies he gave during his interviews, one which manages to stand tall is when he ended up missing out on Pele. The football great was present during a race to present Michael Schumacher with the lifetime achievement award, an occasion the Iceman went onto miss.
Asked if it was a moment he would be able to get over, Raikkonen went onto say, “Yeah. I was having a shit.”ย

While Raikkonen hasn’t talked about what he plans to do next, the Finn could be back in the world of racing with him previously made his presence felt at NASCAR and the World Rally Championship.
