What is PUBG?
Developed by PUBG Studios and published by Krafton, PUBG: Battlegrounds was once known as PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. Based on mods that Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene had previously made for other games, this one was evolved into a full-fledged game inspired by the Japanese film Battle Royale (2000). The game kicks off the PUBG Universe franchise.
The player can choose between a first-person or third-person viewpoint. One hundred players drop into an island, searching for weapons and supplies to eliminate the other 99 while staying alive. Also as the game progresses, the safe zone shrinks, forcing the remaining players into closer and closer quarters and increasing the likelihood of encounters. The round is won by whoever has the fewest players left alive.
