After a long break, Jadon Sancho has returned to football and social media.
With the support of his teammates and leaders from the football world, Jadon Sancho made his return to social media with an emotional message to Manchester United supporters. In the final 27 minutes of Wednesday night’s 2-1 Carabao Cup semifinal second-leg triumph over Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford, Sancho, 22, made his first United appearance in more than three months. Both those at the game and those watching from a distance found it to be a welcome sight.
Explained what happened to Jadon Sancho as he returns to Manchester United team and social media
The quick-footed ex-Borussia Dortmund star hadn’t been with United all winter because he needed time away from Carrington for personal reasons. When Sancho returned to the field after Erik ten Hag graciously afforded him that absence, they enjoyed a heartfelt moment.
Sancho took time away from the team to focus on his physical and emotional health, and when he returned, he did so with a carefully crafted personalised programme. In the future, it is anticipated that would allow the England international to flourish and realise all of his potential for United. After taking a hiatus from social media, Sancho is back on Twitter and Instagram and has posted for the first time since November to indicate the next move.
Sancho had not played since October 22 due to illness and it had raised concerns over the gifted Londoner with his dwindling form seeing him out of the squad till December.
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag had said he was at a loss to understand the downturn in Jadon Sancho’s physical and mental condition after the forward was sent to the Netherlands to undertake individual training away from the main squad.
“Sometimes there are circumstances with fitness and mood. We got a drop of quality level and sometimes you don’t know why or what is causing it.
“That is what we are doing now to try to get him back there. It is a combination of physically and mentally.”

Sancho thanked followers for their support in a statement that was shared on both accounts. The star said: “Fingers crossed and a love heart. Wow! I just want to express my sincere gratitude to everyone for their support over the past several weeks, especially the fans. I’m excited to be back on the field and will be giving my all for my team and the club. I look forward to seeing you soon.”
Sancho posted those remarks along with a clip of the player’s emotional reunion with Ten Hag on the field during the match versus Forest. The video received 300,000 likes and countless answers to that post within an hour.
Colleagues from United including Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, and Lisandro Martinez have commented on the post. Along with Jack Grealish, Vinicius Jr., Dortmund prodigy Jude Bellingham and Manchester City forward Erling Haaland and countless others from the international arena, commented in the post.
