While there, Robin often drove 70 miles from Athens to Columbus just to do his laundry. In one interview, Joe admitted that it was “a little embarrassing” what she did for him.

Robin also travelled to watch almost every single one of Joe’s college games and he continues to do so even in his NFL career. She however, isn’t a big fan of all the sacks that he had to take early on in the season.

Burrow spoke about it saying:

You know, she doesn’t like them. But that’s how I play. She’s been watching it since I was in third grade. I can take a hit or two. She’s gotten used to it. I mean I go out there, lift and practise and feel fine. So, you know, obviously there’s a little treatment, a little massage here and there. My body feels great.”

Back in 2020 before he got drafted, Joe shared a special moment with his mother, who works as an elementary school principal. He recited the ‘Pledge Of Allegiance’ along with his mother while she spoke to her virtual classrooms during the start of the school day.

Joe’s father Jim Burrow

Jim Burrow’s father Joe Burrow is a 69-year-old a former football player and coach with a career spanning four decades. Jimmy played at Ole Miss before he transferred to Nebraska. He entered the NFL during the 1976 NFL draft when the Green Bay Packers drafted him in the eighth round. However, he played only three games that season as a cornerback.

He then joined the Montreal Alouettes and played in the Canadian Football League. Jim later played for the Calgary Stampeders, and the Ottawa Rough Riders. Following his retirement, Jim Burrow took up work as a defensive co-ordinator for Ohio University from 2005 until 2018.

He served as one of the longest-tenured co-ordinators in Division I football. Jimmy eventually retired from coaching to reportedly spend more time watching Joe’s games and save Robin from travelling alone.

Just recently, Jim tweeted a childhood photo of Joe wearing a Chiefs headgear.
