How Shahnawaz Dahani’s misinterpreted tweet caused a storm among netizens?
With a cryptic post referring to the inevitable departure of Shaun Tait from his position as Pakistan’s bowling coach, Pakistani cricketer Shahnawaz Dahani caused quite the scare among netizens. According to numerous sources, Tait’s contract will expire the following month, and it seems unlikely that he will stay in the job. Following the completion of the Pakistan vs. New Zealand one-day international series in Karachi on Friday, Dahani uploaded a number of pictures of Tait with the comment, “A friend who brought smiles, left last night with tears. #ShaunTait” alongside crying and broken-heart emojis.
Owing to the vague nature of the tweet, many netizens were assumed Shaun Tait passed away and were heartbroken due to the abruptness. However, fans soon received news that Tait was doing fine and the tweet referred to his departure from Pakistan’s bowling coach role. Later, Tait himself responded to Dahani’s tweet and expressed his sadness at the prospect of leaving the coach position. Meanwhile, Dahani has also clarified his tweet by commenting that he referred to Tait’s departure from Pakistan team.
Why Shaun Tait is leaving his position as Pakistan’s bowling coach?
Back in 2016, following his final T20 match for Australia, Tait announced his retirement from international cricket. Before leaving in December of last year, he coached Afghanistan’s bowlers at the T20 World Cup that was held in the United Arab Emirates. In the third and final ODI against New Zealand on Friday in Karachi, Pakistan lost by two wickets and conceded the series 1-2 thereby, allowing New Zealand to keep their No.1 spot in the ICC World Rankings. It is assumed that Tait took the decision of leaving coach role due to his desire of spending more time with his family and being closer to them.
