2023 Malaysia Open men’s singles schedule, date, venue, fixtures, & first-round draw
At the upcoming Malaysia Open, reigning world champion Viktor Axelsen will start his campaign with first-round clash against compatriot Rasmus Gemke. Meanwhile, local favorite Malaysian ace Lee Zii Jia will kick-off his title quest with a challenging tie against in-form Japanese shuttler Kodai Naraoka. In another different match, Japanese star Kenta Nishimoto will face-off against Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth. Elsewhere, seventh-seeded Indian ace Lakshya Sen will play HS Prannoy in an all-Indian first-round clash.
Beginning from 2023, Malaysia Open has been upgraded to BWF World Tour Super 1000 and hence, this year players will be more motivated than ever to add this title to their trophy cabinet. From 10th January through 15th January, this competition will be played at Kuala Lumpur’s Axiata Arena inside the KL Sports City. 2023 Malaysia Open: prize money distribution
At 2023 Malaysia Open, the champion of singles category will receive $87,500 prize money compared to $42,500 reward of the runner-up as it will be a prestigious BWF World Tour Super 1000 event. At least $1,250 in prize money will be awarded to each singles category competitor.
