At the upcoming Malaysia Open, reigning world champion Viktor Axelsen will start his campaign with first-round clash against compatriot Rasmus Gemke. In another different match, Japanese star Kenta Nishimoto will face-off against Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth. At 2023 Malaysia Open, the champion of singles category will receive $87,500 prize money compared to $42,500 reward of the runner-up as it will be a prestigious BWF World Tour Super 1000 event. At least $1,250 in prize money will be awarded to each singles category competitor.
