Manas Dhamne, a 15-year-old who played fearlessly, created an impression in the men’s singles opening round of the Tata Open Maharashtra on Monday before being defeated by Michael Mmoh.
Given a wild card entry into the top tennis competition, he experienced top-tier tennis on the first day of the ATP250 event before losing to world no.115 by a score of 2-6, 4-6 to end his tournament run.

Who Is Manas Dhamne?
Manas Dhamne is a young Indian tennis player. He has been in the news because he recently made his ATP debut by playing in the men’s singles opening round of the Tata Open Maharashtra against Micheal Mmoh.
He was born on December 29, 2007, in Satara, Maharashtra. His weight is 163 lbs or 74 kg and his height is 6 feet 2 inches or 188 cm. He is currently 15 years old.
The promising teenager is ranked 80th in the world currently, according to the ITF Juniors rankings, and became the youngest Indian to win a junior title at the ITF Asian B1 championships back in September.
His Career
Manas Dhamne is presently working out with famous Italian coach Riccardo Piatti, who has trained players like Jannik Sinner, Maria Sharapova, and Novak Djokovic. At the moment, he competes for the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association (MSLTA).
According to the ITF Juniors rankings, he is now ranked 80th in the world. In September, in the ITF Asian B1 championships, he became the youngest Indian player to win a junior title.
Manas Dhamne is one of the youngest athletes to win the Asian Junior championship at the moment. He was the previous UTR world No. 1 in the U-12 division. He was a member of the men’s squad from Maharashtra that took home the gold medal in the just-finished National Games in Gujarat.
Along with finalist Aryan Shah, he is scheduled to compete in the Australian Open juniors. Additionally, Dhamne was chosen for the Grand Slam Player Grant Program 2023.
