Stuart Broad weighed in on the fight between James Anderson and Virat Kohli as he threw his weight behind his counterpart 

Ever since Jasprit Bumrah decided to direct his way a carnage of bouncers on day 3, James Anderson has been in a perturbed mood. Utterly perplexed on why he was getting the treatment from Bumrah, Anderson was seen giving him an earful after Mohammed Shami sent him packing.

A night’s sleep wasn’t enough to clam down Anderson with him coming out hot out of the blocks on day 4 of the test match. With England sending India’s openers, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma packing cheaply, the hosts knew they held the reigns of the Lord’s test match.

In a bid to knacker Virat Kohli and break his confidence, Anderson decided to engage in a fracas with him. Going back to his runup, the speedster was seeing directing an onslaught of words towards Kohli, ones the Indian captain didn’t take kindly too.

Kohli was caught on camera telling Anderson it wasn’t his backyard as he hit back at the English quick. Ensuing the set of events which unraveled in the first session, Stuart Broad offered his take on the incident.

Currently on the injury bed with him ruled out of the entire series, Broad commented on Twitter where he talked about how Kohli’s words wouldn’t do him any favour in the long term.

India meanwhile have managed to put the brakes on the string of wickets which were falling like a house of cards. Both Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane have taken the score to 69-3 with India not losing a wicket after lunch.
