James Anderson and Virat Kohli had a go at each other in the first session of day 4 of the Lord’s test match
With Joe Root’s unbeaten 180 taking England to a 27 run lead in the first innings, India stepped out on Sunday knowing they were in a precarious position. Although the lead wasn’t a mammoth one, it was one which saw the scales tip ever so slightly in England’s favour.
That advantage was all the home side needed as it came out hammer and tongs on day 4 of the second test match. Getting both KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma to depart early, England had the two prized wickets it yearned for.
With both Rohit and KL Rahul being in stellar touch with the duo putting on a century partnership in the first innings, England knew they were in complete control of the day’s proceedings. The Indian middle-order has been extremely fragile off late, a plight which could easily see India slip to a deficit in the series.
England vs India Lord’s 2nd Test Match: James Anderson And Virat Kohli Fight Before Kohli’s Dismissal
Virat Kohli’s stay at the crease was going to be pivotal to India surviving in the test match. And he managed to hit the ball in the middle as well, raking up 20 quick runs to offer the Indian supporters a flicker of hope.
In a bid to waver his concentration, James Anderson was seen directing a barrage of words at Kohli as he cantered back to his runup during his over. However, the Indian captain was far from impressed as he hit back at the English speedster, telling him it wasn’t his backyard where he could do as he pleased.
