Midway through the 2010s, Logan Paul was one of the most popular YouTubers before he decided to post a deranged video from Japan on YouTube
Logan Paul got a movie deal that included plenty of commercial chances as well as a role opposite his ex-girlfriend Chloe Bennet. Despite having a fantastic year in 2017, Logan nearly lost his job at the start of 2018.
What Is The Logan Paul Japan Suicide Forest Video Incident And Controversy Of 2017 That Got Him Cancelled
The Maverick visited Japan in the latter part of 2017. He used to do a lot of travel-related vlogs back in the day. It was always fascinating to watch him travel to new areas and find his way through strange terrain. Logan visited Japan in South Asia on one such journey. His behaviour on the trip, however, drew harsh criticism. However, the vlog he posted on December 31, 2017, is what landed him in trouble.
Logan caught a suicidal body in his vlog.
Logan travelled to Japan’s Aokigahara forest in the video that was later removed. It is a lovely area to visit, but it also had a bad reputation! Another location known for its numerous suicide stories is Aokigahara. Mount Fuji woodland is frequently referred to as “Japan’s suicide forest.” Logan was looking around and making videos for his vlogs in the forest. But something was captured by the cameras that they weren’t supposed to.
Logan was wandering about when he discovered a body hanging in the forest. It was recorded by Team Paul and uploaded on their vlog. Team Paul made a poor choice with that, though. The backlash directed towards Logan was arguably the harshest any other YouTuber had seen up to that point.
The Japanese suicide forest video had serious repercussions.
As soon as the vlog was posted online, viewers began criticising it. On his YouTube channel, Logan already had millions of subscribers. Consequently, it didn’t take long for the content to become popular! Many people shared the video online, but for all the wrong reasons. The viewers repeatedly expressed their disapproval of the video, and it was quickly removed.
Paul soon removed the video, but not before it seriously hurt his reputation. According to the BBC, YouTube delisted Logan’s channel from its Google Preferred programme. As a result, Logan missed out on a significant portion of the extra money he could have made. However, that was not the only penalty he received.
Like many others, we were upset by the video that was shared last week.

We expect more of the creators who build their community on @YouTube, as we’re sure you do too. The channel violated our community guidelines, we acted accordingly, and we are looking at further consequences.

Additionally, YouTube was in discussions with Logan to produce a lot of original material. However, because the platform pulled out of the agreement, it ultimately did not happen. Dwyane Johnson, the biggest name in Hollywood film, likewise distanced himself from Paul. Paul was also sued by Planless Pictures in 2020 for $3.5 million, according to an NBC story.
The production company claimed that they lost $3.5 million as a result of the dispute in 2018. It appears that the production business was expecting to receive the aforementioned sum in licence fees from Google. However, after the suicide forest saga, it never happened.
Later, Logan had no option but an apology.
Logan Paul was forced to apologise after receiving a strong reaction. After barely two days, he uploaded a video to his social media accounts. He profusely apologised for his behaviour and seemed to be overcome with regret. Over 76 million people have watched the video on YouTube and Twitter combined. Paul, who was in his early 20s, acknowledged having made a terrible mistake.
Logan expressed his regret and asked his supporters not to defend him, admitting that he had earned the criticism. Logan briefly vanished from the public spotlight as a result of the widely reported issue. Later, he gained the momentum necessary to revive his career.
