His true name is Puneet Kumar. Before TikTok was outlawed in India in June 2020, the comedian became well-known there. The famous expression “Kothi bangle wale log,” which translates to “mansion people” or “wealthy people,” was coined by the comedian. Puneet initially gained notoriety for being a cringe online personality, but it has since come to light that he is actually a content producer who has been loved by his followers.

Indian comedian Puneet Superstar was born in Bihar. His social commentary on the “kothi bangle wale log,” or homeowners and the upper middle class, helped him gain a following on TikTok by showing accurate depictions of middle-class living in India. In an interview with Dostcast that was uploaded to YouTube on November 12th, 2021, Puneet discussed the transformation of his content from that of a typical artist trying to resemble a higher social class to that of a person who realistically portrays himself and his humour. Puneet believes that what sets him different from other Indian content makers who constantly wear their nicest clothing and gel their hair when creating short (15-second) videos is his honesty in the way he portrays his life. In almost a year since its upload, the interview has received over 600,000 views and 30,000 likes (seen below).
Puneet amassed approximately 150,000 followers on Instagram as of 2022 and more than 2.9 million followers on MX Takatak.

Early in 2019, Puneet Superstar started posting on TikTok. He quickly became well-known for his content that satirised people he refers to as “nalle,” “berozgaar,” “chapri aur bhikmange,” “chappal chor ladke aur ladkiyan,” which is loosely translated as annoying, unemployed, and useless boys and girls. These individuals are contrasted with “Kothi bangle wale log,” who are wealthy home owners, as being completely opposing. Puneet frequently wears tiny coloured sunglasses to look cool and funny.

Puneet shared a video on his Instagram on November 29, 2021, in which he discussed how someone had left the comment “I am your biggest fan” on a post. He sarcastically replies, “Toh isse mera kya fayda,” “How does it benefit me?” in English.
