JJ or KSI, a YouTuber from the UK, surprised everyone when he revealed that none other than former Manchester United and England player Wayne Rooney had proposed a boxing bout
Prior to his showdown with MMA fighter Dillon Danis on January 14, 2023, JJ revealed this fact during a press conference.
JJ has received calls from some of the biggest names in the online and entertainment communities, ranging from the Paul Brothers to One Direction member Liam Payne. But his most recent admission goes a step further, naming 37-year-old Wayne Rooney as a potential opponent on his fight schedule.

KSI admitted that he declined the chance to face Rooney, but if the former English forward is willing to enter the ring, he would be a candidate for Misfits Boxing.

On Wayne Rooney’s unofficial call-out, KSI offers his opinion.
At a press conference that just ended in front of Misfits Boxing 004, KSI was questioned about possible celebrities with whom he could spar.
Unexpectedly, Wayne Rooney was among the famous people who had showed interest in challenging the Sidemen member. JJ stated:
“I hope he doesn’t get annoyed that I said this but, Wayne Rooney hit me up being like, ‘Oh, we should fight.’ and I said, ‘No.’ I just don’t wanna do that.”
“I know Wayne Bridge is another person that has been interested in the space.”
Wayne Rooney has not addressed the press conference in his own words. Fans, however, were ready to voice their sentiments following KSI’s unexpected admission. In response to KSI’s discoveries, Dillon Danis, his prospective opponent, tweeted a dig at Wayne Rooney for just being interested in a fight. He later removed the tweet after receiving a lot of criticism.
