2022 BWF World Tour Finals: Men’s Singles Day 1 Results, Score, Winners, & Latest Standings
In his opening group-stage match at the men’s singles event of 2022 BWF World Tour Finals, Viktor Axelsen dispatched his opponent Lu Guangzu with ease, as he secured straight-set victory by score of 21-13, 21-11. Meanwhile, in the other Group-A match on Wednesday, Indian star HS Prannoy lost against Kodai Naraoka by score of 12-21, 21-9, 17-21 after an intense struggle. On Thursday, Prannoy will attempt to win his match against Lu Guangzu and keep his semi-final qualification dreams alive.
Elsewhere in Group-B, Loh Kean Yew thrashed Taiwanese ace Chou Tien-chen to win in straight-set by score of 21-15, 21-17. In an all-Indonesian clash on Wednesday, Jonatan Christie lost against compatriot Anthony Sinisuka Ginting by score of 21-6, 10-21, 9-21 owing to superb comeback from Ginting.
