Together with Neuza Back and Karen Daz Medina, Frappart was in charge of Germany’s exciting 4–2 win over Costa Rica.
As a woman in soccer, Nesbitt is used to making history. In December 2020, she was the first woman in North America to officiate a championship match in a professional men’s sport. She was in charge of the match between Seattle Sounders and Columbus Crew for the MLS Cup.
Nesbitt was also named MLS Assistant Referee of the Year earlier that same year. Now, she’s getting ready to take the field for England vs. Senegal, which will be another big step in her career. Nesbitt became a referee full-time for the first time at the 2019 Women’s World Cup. Before that, she taught chemistry at the college level.
She did her own research for ten years and then set up a lab at Towson University in Baltimore. Nesbitt loves and has a background in analytical chemistry and teaching. She says that these things help her in her job as a football referee.
She is paid $70,000 in base salary at the FIFA World Cup and $3,000 per match in fees. She was born on July 11, 1988, in Rochester, New York, United States and is 34 years old with her height at 6 feet. She doesn’t have an official Instagram account.
Kathryn Nesbitt Referee At England Vs Senegal
England made it to the round of 16 by coming in first in Group B with seven points. With two wins and a tie, they came in second in their group, behind the USA, and sent Iran and Wales home early. Senegal also had two wins in the group stages, but they finished second in Group A because they lost to the Netherlands 2-0.
Tonight at 19:00 GMT, the two will play for a spot in the quarter-finals. If Senegal beats England, they will match their best performance at a World Cup. England will try to go further in the competition and do better than they did in 2018, when they came in fourth place.
