Black Kid Made Monkey Noises At During Marble Falls High School Texas Basketball Game
Friday’s game between East Central and Marble Falls is when the alleged incident allegedly occurred, and EC senior Asia Prudhomme was lined up at the charity stripe. In the footage, students can be heard shouting throughout Prudhomme’s free throws, appearing to imitate monkeys.
Prudhomme felt devastated by the incident.
After the game, Prudhomme posted the clip to social media, writing that the incident was horrible, painful, and uncalled for. Moreover, she added Basketball cannot even be played in the presence of ignorance and racism. It severely hurt her heart and the hearts of her teammates and coaches.
This is sad, heartbreaking and uncalled for. Can’t even play basketball without ignorance and racism in the stands. This really broke my heart, my coaches and teammates… please share this out and help us punish those involved. pic.twitter.com/lahZTa6bDB

Marble Falls officials were informed of the kids’ activities, according to Suzette Arriola, director of athletics at ECHS, but no one was ejected from the game. The noises, according to Arriola, were also made at other points in the game.
The investigation has been started.
The start of an investigation was announced by Marble Falls on Monday. The Marble Falls School District is unwavering in its mission to cherish every child and encourage them to realise their greatest potential, and this holds true for kids who do not even attend their school.
They will keep collaborating with the East Central High administration to conduct a thorough investigation and hold students responsible for their behaviour. The rest of the statement read that Marble Falls ISD does not promote discrimination in any way, and they want East Central students to know they have their complete support.
Racism affects every aspect of American sports.
Racism in sports has long been an issue, and throughout the history of sports in the United States and other countries, racism toward African Americans has been particularly pervasive. In a 2007 report, the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission (HREOC) noted that racial abuse is frequent in international sports, mostly in the United States. However, it’s time to put a stop to this at this point.
