2022 UK Championship: Ding Junhui vs Mark Allen Final Match Events, Score, & Summary

Allen got off to the perfect start in the evening session, cutting the deficit to 6-5 after falling behind 6-2 after the first session. Following the break, Allen maintained his momentum by making a 59 to take the lead for the first time at 7-6 and then taking it again in one go with a 109. After dropping seven consecutive games, Ding took back control with a break of 105. In frame 16, Allen made 42 points before losing position, but he quickly regained it with a thunderous long red and added 32 points to go ahead 9-7.

Ding appeared to be winning the gritty frame 17 after taking a 35-point lead. However, Allen pulled off a stunning clearing from the penultimate red, demonstrating his ability to remain composed under pressure. As the event in York came to a thrilling finale, Allen rattled off nine of the final ten frames with two century and five further breaks over 50 to win the trophy and the £250,000 top prize, which was his largest pay day of his career. Given that he won the Masters in 2018, it is his second Triple Crown victory.
