Aston Martin’s valuable points were scrapped after Sebastian Vettel was disqualified from the F1 Hungarian Grand Prix due to fuel sample complications
According to Art. 6.6.2 of the FIA Technical Regulations state that 1 liter of fuel sample must be collected from the cars at any period of time. However, in the case of 4 time Formula 1 Championship winner Sebastian Vettel, the officials were only able to collect 0.3-liters which is way below the required norms.
As a result, Lewis Hamilton moves up to P2 which is an excellent result for the Briton who was at the back of the grid after a blunder before the restart. Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz moves to P3 securing his second podium of the season.
Know Why Was Sebastian Vettel Disqualified After Fuel Infringement In Hungarian Grand Prix
Sebastian Vettel managed to stay away from the big crashes at turn one chasing Alpine driver Estaban Ocon in every lap of the race. He secured his second P2 of the season showcasing wonderful driving skills at the very congested Hungaroring.
However, he lost his P2 position as the stewards were not able to collect a necessary 1-liter fuel sample from his Aston Martin losing his hard-earned Championship points. Vettel was disappointed with the decision but is still confident as Aston Martin appeal the decision.
Seb did an amazing race today and we are so proud of him, even though he can't keep this lovely & well deserved trophy.
We are confident that he will shine again soon ✨#AlwaysBelieveInSeb pic.twitter.com/XZMHiZFblP

Aston Martin Appeal Disqualification Of Sebastian Vettel
Meanwhile, Aston Martin has served a notice to FIA regarding their appeal to look into the matter with an open mind and restoration of valuable points. Sebastian Vettel secured 18 Championship points by finishing P2 but technical complications have cost him badly.
But an FIA document reads:
“In this context, the FIA technical department representatives were asked by the stewards to seal and impound car 5 until such time as the Notice of Appeal is received or the FIA International Court of Appeal makes any determinations as relevant”.
It will be interesting to see how the story unfolds as FIA launches an investigation to monitor the depth of the situation assessing all the necessary details. Formula 1 will return after the 3-week summer break at the Belgian Grand Prix.
