The F1 2022 season will conclude very soon with just two races left – the Brazilian GP and Abu Dhabi GP.
What Are F1 Penalty Points?
F1 drivers receive penalty points when they do something that the FIA considers dangerous during a race. The reason could range from a collision, a driver ignoring yellow flags, or even when a driver drives too fast under the safety car.
Each penalty point, remains on a driver’s licence for a year before expiring. Drivers get into big trouble if they garner a total of 12 penalty points over the course of one year. When such a scenario happens, a driver earns a race ban.
