Indianapolis Colts New Next Head Coach Odds, Predictions And Favorites List
Peyton Manning is the frontrunner.
According to Nate Atkins of the Indianapolis Star, odds for whom the Colts would choose as their new head coach fell on Monday, with Peyton Manning as the frontrunner. Another former Colts quarterback whose name most football fans will recall, Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh, is tied for the second choice behind Peyton Manning.
Manning currently has +475 odds of becoming the Colts’ next head coach, according to the Bovada sportsbook. He is closely followed at +500 by Harbaugh, Mike Kafka of the New York Giants, and Kellen Moore of the Dallas Cowboys.

Manning is a Colts legend.
Naturally, Manning played with the Colts for 14 seasons, helping the team win Super Bowl XLI. Like Saturday, he is well-liked in Indianapolis but lacks coaching experience. Since his retirement in 2015, he has kept himself busy by anchoring the ESPN documentary series “Peyton’s Places,” the game show “College Bowl,” and occasionally joining forces with his brother Eli for the ManningCast during Monday Night Football broadcasts.
Harbaugh follows next.
Harbaugh, who played for the Colts for four seasons, strikes as being a lot more grounded. The head coach of Michigan, who is in his seventh season, previously had success in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers. Before returning to Ann Arbor last summer, he openly flirted with the Minnesota Vikings over their open head coaching post.
Saturday is the current interim manager.
It’s a little surprise that Saturday’s isn’t one of the favourites since the Colts’ decision to hire him on an interim basis appears to be a tryout for the permanent position. But given that Saturday has never coached in the NFL or college football and doesn’t have any play-callers on his staff, it’s easy to be negative about the team’s prospects for the remainder of this season.
Whomever the Colts choose as their next head coach feels like anyone’s guess, especially in light of how unexpected the hiring on Saturday was.
