Irene Dkhar, from Meghalaya, was named Miss Northeast 2022 on Thursday during a glitzy event hosted at Kohima’s Capital Cultural Hall in Nagaland. The winner, who is from Meghalaya, received gift baskets from Floyd Hyundai and Vuto Hyundai in addition to a cash award of INR 1.5 lakh.
First runner-up Eshanee Hatimuria of Assam won INR 1 lakh and gift baskets provided by MLA Imkong L. Imchen. The second runner-up Dyna Jomo of Arunachal Pradesh won INR 70,000 and gift baskets provided by Hero Anak Motors Kohima. Each of the sub-title winners received INR 20,000 in addition to gift baskets.
The Northeast Beauty Pageant Organization (NBPO) planned the event, which was presented by the Beauty and Aesthetic Society of Nagaland (BASN) and funded by the Nagaland government.

Event process
The candidates from the eight north-eastern states displayed their rich cultural heritages in the first round through ethnic dress rounds, and in the next two rounds, they donned Kivitoli Chishi and Neisa Rupreo creations.
Event judges and choreographer
Dr. Sagar J. Abichandani, a celebrity dentist and well-known expert on pageant smiles, Femina Miss India from Mumbai Nise Meruno, Supermodel Ketholenuo Kense Vihienuo, , Fashion designerBambi Kevichusa, and Dr. Theyiesinuo Keditsu, an educator and author, served as the judges for the event. Where as Theja Sekhose served as the event’s official choreographer.
