During Wednesday’s first round matches of 2022 French Open, Kidambi Srikanth secured straight-set win against compatriot Lakshya Sen by score of 21-18, 21-18 in an all-Indian clash. In a different first-round match, Sameer Verma stunned sixth-seeded Anthony Ginting to win 21-15, 21-23, 22-20 after an intense match that lasted 77 minutes. Following these results, Srikanth will play Danish shuttler Rasmus Gemke in second-round while Sameer will play against Thailand’s Vitidsarn.
After a dramatic match that lasted 73 minutes, in-form Indian sensation HS Prannoy defeated Liew Daren with a score of 21-16, 16-21, 21-16 to advance to a matchup with Lu Guangzu in the second round.
