Well-known American politician Kevin De Leon refused to tender his resignation after getting embroiled in a racism controversy, know his wife
Kevin De Leรณn, a member of the Los Angeles City Council, said Univision on Wednesday that despite the controversy surrounding a recording that showed him taking part in a meeting where officials made racial slurs, he would not be stepping down.

Several others, including US Vice President Joe Biden, demanded the resignation of every LA official present at the meeting. They spoke offensive things, including racist things, about the Black kid of a white counselor.
While Former City Council President Nury Martinez and union leader Ron Herrera tendered their resignation, De Leon expressed his “so sorry” and wanted to continue tackling homelessness and other issues in his region.

Who Is Kevin De Leรณn?
Kevin De Leรณn is a well-known American politician who is currently serving on Los Angeles City Council. He has been in the news because he recently refused to tender his resignation after getting embroiled in a racism controversy.
His full name is Kevin Alexander Leon. Many people are also called KVL. On December 10, 1966, he was born in Los Angeles, California, in the United States.
His father’s name is Carmen Osorio and his mother’s name is Andrรฉs Leon.ย His father hasย Chinese ancestry, and both of his parents were born in Guatemala. He does, however, very much identify with Mexican culture.
Kevin De Leรณnย attended many high schools for his education. Later, he enrolled in the University of California, Santa Barbara, but left early. Later, in 2003, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Pitzer College.
Although he has never been married, he does have a daughter named Lluvia Carrasco whose mother is Magdalena Carrasco, a councilwoman for San Jose.
Currently, he is 55 years old.
His Career
Kevin De Leรณnย worked as a teacher and a community organizer before entering politics. He has held positions at the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs as a professor, senior analyst, and policymaker-in-residence.
He was a distinguished fellow for climate, environmental justice, and health at the USC Schwarzenegger Institute at the University of Southern California during his time there.
Heย spent four years in the State Assembly prior to being elected to the Senate. In 2010, he won a seat in the California State Senate. He was chosen to preside over the Senate in 2014. He ran for mayor of Los Angeles in 2022 as a member of the Democratic Party.
